Connect your AI

Kata is an MCP server. Kata Call has no script editor: your AI adds numbers, creates campaigns and variants, places test calls and reads the results, with the same tools as the built-in agent.

1. Get your key

In the app, on Home, click Connect your agent and copy the setup prompt. It holds your key and the server URL. Keys start with kata_.

Treat the key like a password. Anyone with it can run every tool, including placing calls.

2. Add the server

bash
claude mcp add --transport http kata https://api.katacall.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <your key>"
SettingValue
URLhttps://api.katacall.com/mcp
TransportHTTP (Streamable HTTP)
HeaderAuthorization: Bearer <your key>

Protocol details

TransportMCP Streamable HTTP, stateless, JSON responses only (no SSE stream, no session id).
RequestsPOST one JSON-RPC 2.0 message per request.
Methodsinitialize, ping, tools/list, tools/call

The usual order

  1. set_company_brief, once.
  2. add_numbers.
  3. create_call_campaign with an opener and a script, then set_call_variant for a second variant.
  4. import_call_leads with a CSV that has a phone column.
  5. place_test_call to your own phone.
  6. set_campaign_status active, with your approval.
  7. list_calls, get_call and call_stats to follow.
place_test_call and run_call_scheduler really call once real telephony is on. Your AI should ask you first.
